TAS State Migration Plan announced
The state of Tasmania (TAS) has announced its new State Migration Plan (SMP) on 14 Dec 2010.
Here are the notes on the new TAS SMP
Application for Subclass 176 permanent residence visa requires a job offer or strong interest from a Tasmanian employer
- For Subclass 475 temporary applications, Managers, Accountants, Architects & Surveyors, Engineers and IT Professionals require an overall IELTS Band 7.5
The SMP list will be updated from time to time.
Applicants must demonstrate a genuine desire to live and work in Tasmania. In addition to skills, the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts will consider factors such as
- educational links to Tasmania
- commercial links to Tasmania
- personal links to Tasmania
- a full time job offer or strong interest from a local employer
- previous visits to Tasmania
- potential ease of resettlement and employment
- transferrable asset
