Following an influx of projects they’re looking to appoint an Intermediate to Senior QS to lead the estimating and surveying team and help achieve ambitious growth targets.

Leading the team you’ll be instrumental in overseeing all tenders, contracts and procurement to maximise commercial opportunities. This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with a background in interiors and/ or construction looking for a fresh challenge.

Position 2: Senior Professional Quantity Surveyor

This award winning international practice is well known for achieving stakeholder’s objectives at every turn by a tailored approach to their management solutions. Projects are vast and varied within the infrastructure and commercial sectors. They now require a Senior PQS to join their Infrastructure team based here in Christchurch; there are two arms of the business. Infrastructure and commercial; you will be given the opportunity to lead and manage the infrastructure Quantity Surveyor team.

With a well known presence here in Christchurch before the earthquakes they have a solid base of stakeholders, excellent local connections and an in-depth knowledge of the local market. You will help provide consultancy services within the Infrastructure sector, providing cost planning techniques to protect the financial interests of our stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have experience within the infrastructure sector, and experience in working on projects of over $20M and $30M. You will have a professional qualification and / or be a member of an institute. Your communication skills will allow you to be directly involved with experienced clientele along with a professional manner and outlook towards team members. Candidates with overseas experience will be considered along with New Zealand and local experience.

Position 3: Senior Quantity Surveyor

This leading commercial contractor has a strong reputation and a proud history that spans several decades. They’ve steadily and deliberately evolved over this time to become a major player in the heavy construction game. They excel in delivering mostly large scale, new build commercial and industrial construction projects in the $2m to $100m range and enjoy a high level of repeat client business.

This is a newly created position owing to a strong influx of commercial and industrial new build projects. The Managing Quantity Surveyor requires an experienced Senior who is capable of single handedly running a large $60m+ design and build project in the Waikato region. You could be based in Wellington if you are able to travel away from home regularly.

You will flourish in the role and enjoy the challenge and reward of successfully managing the full project surveying on landmark projects in the city.

You will need:
• Degree or Diploma qualified with a minimum 8 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying and/or Estimating.

Degree qualified candidates should possess skills in all aspects of civil engineering, including road design, streetscape, cycleways, utility design, stormwater design, land development and earthworks. A technical specialty in one area would be an advantage. Candidates will require excellent job delivery skills, including work planning and financial management, together with client relationship skills and proposal preparation.
